LaTrecia Raffety

LaTrecia has loved art ever since I could hold a pencil. I used to fill catalogs and magazines with drawings (her very first altered books!) when she was five years old. Formal art education commenced in college with a degree in commercial art. Over the years she has explored a variety of media, styles and techniques. Her favorite techniques are collage, art journals and art dolls. Who knows what next month will bring!

She was a sales trainer for a major real estate company for several years, which gave her a good background in teaching adults. For the past three years she has taught elementary art at a private school, which has been enlightening and energizing to say the least! She loves helping people discover their creativity and find the joy of making art.

Many of the classes she teaches to adults include paste paper, papermaking, collage, art doll shrines and book necklaces.

She has two terrific sons, Ryan and Hunter, who frequently assist her in her quest of cool and unusual collage fodder and art ideas.
